Resin Flooring Maintenance

Resin Flooring Maintenance — Planned Care for Industrial Floors

A resin floor is a capital asset — and like any capital asset it repays regular, planned maintenance many times over. A well-maintained epoxy or polyurethane floor lasts 15–20 years; the same floor left to run without inspection typically needs full refurbishment within 8–10. F Wilding Ltd offers planned maintenance contracts for resin floors across the UK — visit-based inspection, wear-coat renewal, joint re-sealing and anti-slip top-ups.

What a maintenance visit covers

Each maintenance visit follows a fixed checklist: visual inspection, bond testing on any suspect areas, joint and coving inspection, anti-slip performance check (pendulum test where required), photographic record, and a written report with any recommended remedial actions. Where the scope is agreed in advance we carry out minor repairs on the same visit — patch repairs, joint re-fills, anti-slip aggregate top-ups.

  • Annual or biannual site inspection
  • Written condition report with photos
  • Minor patch repairs completed on the visit
  • Joint and expansion detail re-sealing
  • Anti-slip aggregate top-up broadcast
  • Wear-coat renewal (light re-coat)
  • Prioritised recommendations for larger works

Why planned maintenance saves money

Almost every failed resin floor we're called to could have been kept in service years longer with modest, regular maintenance. Small failures — a hairline crack, a lifting joint edge, a worn-out anti-slip finish — spread into large ones once water and contamination get in. Catching and re-sealing them during a planned visit costs a fraction of the eventual repair.

Who we maintain floors for

Most of our maintenance contracts are with warehousing operators, food producers, workshops and retail chains where floor condition is either safety-critical (slip resistance, HACCP compliance) or operationally critical (racking stability, aisle integrity). We maintain floors we've installed and floors installed by other contractors.

Frequently asked questions

Do you only maintain floors you installed?+

No. We're happy to take on maintenance contracts for floors installed by other contractors, provided we can identify the existing system and specify compatible repair materials.

How often should a resin floor be inspected?+

For heavy-traffic industrial and warehouse floors we recommend annual inspection. Food production and pharmaceutical floors typically need biannual visits. Lower-traffic areas can be inspected every 2–3 years.

Can you provide slip-resistance (pendulum) testing?+

Yes — we carry out pendulum slip testing to BS 7976 as part of maintenance visits where anti-slip performance is safety-critical, and issue a certificated report.

Do you cover the whole UK?+

Yes. F Wilding Ltd is Essex-based but the majority of our contracts are outside the South East — London, the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire, the North East, Wales, Scotland and the South West. Travel, accommodation and out-of-hours access are priced into every quote.
