Epoxy Self Levelling Flooring

Epoxy Self Levelling Flooring — Seamless 2–4 mm Industrial Floors

Epoxy self levelling (SL) is a flow-applied resin system typically installed at 2–4 mm that self-smooths across the substrate to give a completely seamless, level, glossy finish. Where an epoxy high build coating seals a floor, an epoxy SL system re-surfaces it — masking substrate imperfections and delivering a heavier-duty floor that stands up to forklifts, pallet loads and long service life.

What is epoxy self levelling flooring?

Epoxy SL is a solvent-free, two-pack epoxy applied by pin rake and spiked roller, then de-aerated with a spiked roller as it flows. The material self-levels across the prepared substrate at 2–4 mm nominal thickness, curing to a hard, glossy, chemical-resistant, seamless floor.

Where it's used

SL is specified where a smooth, level, seamless finish matters — cleanrooms, pharmaceutical, food packaging (where PU screed isn't required), premium showrooms, distribution centres with high MHE traffic, laboratories.

Key benefits

Why UK commercial and industrial specifiers choose epoxy self levelling flooring for their sites:

  • Seamless, joint-free finish
  • Self-smooths across substrate imperfections
  • Full chemical resistance
  • Hard-wearing 2–4 mm build
  • Glossy or satin finish options
  • Coved detailing available

Our installation approach

Every install starts with a free site survey to confirm the substrate is fit for the specified system. We mechanically prepare the concrete (diamond grinding, shot blasting or scabbling depending on the resin), install any DPM, primers and repairs required, apply the resin build-up in coats to the specified thickness, and hand over with a written warranty and maintenance schedule. Nationwide, with experienced resin flooring teams.

Frequently asked questions

How flat does the substrate need to be for epoxy SL?+

SL will mask minor undulations but it can't correct a badly out-of-tolerance slab. For very poor substrates we install an epoxy scratch coat or a levelling screed first.

Can epoxy SL be laid over an existing coating?+

Only if the existing coating is fully bonded and mechanically prepared. Most SL installs are over freshly shot-blasted or ground concrete.

What warranty do you provide?+

A written 5-year product-and-installation warranty is standard on all supply-and-install projects. Some systems (PU screeds, MMA) can be extended to 7–10 years subject to specification and client maintenance regime.

Do you cover the whole UK?+

Yes. F Wilding Ltd is Essex-based but the majority of our contracts are outside the South East — London, the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire, the North East, Wales, Scotland and the South West. Travel, accommodation and out-of-hours access are priced into every quote.
