Conductive (ESD) Flooring — Resin Systems for Electronics & Explosive Atmospheres
Conductive (ESD) resin flooring dissipates static charge to earth, protecting sensitive electronics and eliminating spark risk in explosive-atmosphere environments. F Wilding Ltd installs conductive ESD flooring nationwide for electronics manufacturing, munitions, cleanrooms and industrial control rooms.
What is conductive (esd) flooring?
A conductive floor is a resin build (typically epoxy SL) incorporating conductive fillers and installed over a copper earth grid connected to the building earth. Resistance is measured and certificated to IEC 61340-4-1 or client-specified standards.
Where it's used
Semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, cleanrooms, medical device production, munitions and explosives handling, chemical dosing rooms with flammable atmospheres.
Key benefits
Why UK commercial and industrial specifiers choose conductive (esd) flooring for their sites:
- Resistance <1 × 10⁶ Ω (conductive)
- Copper earth grid installation
- Certificated to IEC 61340 / client spec
- Seamless & cleanroom-compatible
- Available in decorative finishes
- Long-term stable conductivity
Our installation approach
Every install starts with a free site survey to confirm the substrate is fit for the specified system. We mechanically prepare the concrete (diamond grinding, shot blasting or scabbling depending on the resin), install any DPM, primers and repairs required, apply the resin build-up in coats to the specified thickness, and hand over with a written warranty and maintenance schedule. Nationwide, with experienced resin flooring teams.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between conductive and static dissipative?+
Conductive floors have very low electrical resistance (typically <1 × 10⁶ Ω) — used for explosive atmospheres. Static dissipative floors have moderate resistance (10⁶–10⁹ Ω) — used for electronics assembly where controlled charge drainage is required.
What warranty do you provide?+
A written 5-year product-and-installation warranty is standard on all supply-and-install projects. Some systems (PU screeds, MMA) can be extended to 7–10 years subject to specification and client maintenance regime.
Do you cover the whole UK?+
Yes. F Wilding Ltd is Essex-based but the majority of our contracts are outside the South East — London, the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire, the North East, Wales, Scotland and the South West. Travel, accommodation and out-of-hours access are priced into every quote.
